Toluene Nauticol or methylbenzene is a colourless organic compound with a characteristic strong odor and sweet (a solvent) and dried by evaporation. Toluene is a harmful substance lesser degree than benzene and vapours of this substance may cause slight eye irritation and narcotic effect.


Used in the manufacture of paints as paint thinner, lacquers, adhesives, varnishes, resins, rubbers and in certain printing processes and leather tanning, and for cleaning fabrics, mainly Neoprene Hypalon.
